Welcome to the official space for clinical biology in Tunisia.

1. Who are we?

The members of the STBC board are pleased to briefly introduce the society, its activities, and its current role in the national and international landscape.

The STBC was founded in 1981 thanks to a team of dedicated Biologists, following the visa granted by the Ministry of the Interior under number B1290/1 dated 22/7/1981, thus approving the statutes of an association recognized for its non-profit and science-dissemination character.

“ The founders' objective was to promote and disseminate the science of medical biology through the exchange of information and the development of continuing education, as well as an active contribution to the advancement of this specialty. ”

Over its 28 years of activity, the STBC has been able to bring together and mobilize all biologists, regardless of their specialty or mode of practice.

2. Our mission & activities

Over the years, the STBC has gained increasing recognition among its members, supervisory authorities, regional and international federations, and its industrial partners.

However, given the rapid advances in biology and the increasingly recognized responsibilities of the biologist, the STBC must at this stage of its maturity preserve its achievements and develop its activities in line with the evolution of biology.

A more rigorous and collegial management of the society's activities is now required. Several measures have been taken in this direction:

• •The strengthening of the Tunisian Journal of Clinical Biology through the appointment, since July 2000, of a permanent editorial committee, the overhaul of its content and the regularity of its publications.
• •The creation of a Continuing Education section comprising 18 biologists from different specialties and modes of practice, responsible for drawing up the annual scientific programme, including the themes selected for the national days.
